The Temple By-Laws

We encourage you to read our By-Laws to understand how our congregation operates.

WHY A COVENANT?

This is a mutual commitment between each member and the congregation to build and engage in a supportive, connected, and encouraging community.

Thank you for your interest in joining The Temple. We are a warm, welcoming, and open congregation, comprised of multigenerational families, Jews of all backgrounds, interfaith and nontraditional families, and members of all ages, stages, and walks of life. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to visit us and experience The Temple firsthand before you submit your Covenant of Membership. Join us for worship or a special event; tour the archives; visit our library; enjoy a family-style Shabbat dinner; tour our preschool and religious school. Committing to a synagogue is an important decision and

you may have questions about our congregation ... what we offer, why membership matters and how to best engage.Visiting us or participating in a few programs or services can be meaningful in your decision to become a member.

Once you decide to join our congregation, please complete your Covenant (including the Financial Commitment and Payment Authorization Form). A Membership Committee member will contact you to answer any questions and allow us to get to know each other a little bit better. The Membership Committee will then present your Covenant (not including your financial information) to our Board of Trustees for approval, per our bylaws (meetings generally take place on the third Thursday of each month). While your presence is not necessary, you are welcome to attend the meeting to introduce yourself.

A paper version of the Covenant can also be downloaded to be completed manually.
