Investing in our Future:
The Free Will Financial Commitment Model
Our congregation’s leadership is always searching for ways to ensure the sustainablity of our synagogue for future generations. We are fortunate to enjoy both an engaged and supportive community at The Temple.
The Temple’s leadership studied how to re-engage young Jews in Temple life extensively – current demographics, future aspirations, financial models in use elsewhere – and reached two key conclusions. First, a large opportunity exists to attract new members under 40 and second, a good option for us is a Free Will financial commitment model.
We have chosen to pilot the Free Will financial commitment model for prospective members under the age of 40. Under this model, a prospective member under 40 is given a suggested financial commitment and asked to pay what he or she can, no questions asked. Thus far, we’re thrilled with the results and if you’re under 40, we hope it helps simplify your decision to join The Temple!
The Temple Adath Israel Brith Sholom has built a proud legacy over 175 years in Louisville, with a mission to enrich lives in our community. Whether you are looking to gain spiritual guidance and strength, engage at every stage of life, find opportunities to repair the world, celebrate life’s joyous occasions, participate in a caring community, learn Jewish teachings and traditions, or simply join together with others in Reform Judaism, we welcome you! The Temple continues to innovate and offers you a place to be inspired. Thank you for visiting us and we look forward to welcoming you into our congregation and our community!
