Student Requirements & Expectations:​​

1. The student must have completed at least three years in our Hebrew and religious school, or the equivalent, at the time of becoming Bat/Bar Mitzvah.
2. The student will attend weekly Bar/Bat Mitzvah classes for about six months in addition to Religious and Hebrew School.
3. The student will have private meetings with a rabbi for preparation of the “d’var torah” or speech.
4. A “mitzvah project” is an integral part of becoming Bar or Bat Mitzvah. This guide contains a section with various mitzvah project suggestions.
5. All members of the student’s class will be invited to the service and celebration.
6. The student will continue to attend The Temple’s Religious School and Hebrew School through 8th grade and continue at the Hebrew High School until 10th grade Confirmation.
